David Humphrys
President/Owner, Director of Projects & Design

David is among the elite designers, installers and instructor trainers of challenge courses and aerial parks in Canada. He is an active member with the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) – Design Performance and Inspection Standards Committee and continues to contribute to the American Standards and Testing of Materials (ASTM). He has presented at several national and international conferences on challenge course technology, risk management and experiential education including the annual ACCT and Ontario Camps Association (OCA) Conferences. His expert knowledge of aerial structure installations and fall protection standards, through the IHSA, is a great asset to his work with customers in the Industrial Working at Heights industry.

Mike Larsen
Owner, Director of Installations & Training

Mike brings a strong background and experience in construction and lead building of aerial adventure parks and challenge courses. Mike is a skilled operator of specialty cable and rope rigging systems and is certified with most heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steers, excavators and landscaping equipment. His experience in industrial settings, working on oil rigs and with pressurized gases, has contributed significantly to his workplace safety and project management skills and allows him to provide experience-based recommendations when designing and implementing Industrial At Heights safety systems and training programs. In addition, Mike is an experienced and knowledgeable trainer and facilitator of aerial and low rope elements, and his background as the Program Manager for Tim Horton’s Children’s Camp, has provided him with a strong skills base and broad knowledge of the Camp industry.

Jen Dennis
Training & Inspections Coordinator, Office Administrator

Jen works directly with our customer base as a first point of friendly contact to assist with all inquiries and to directly coordinate and schedule our customer training and inspections.  Jen’s background as the Manager of a First Aid & Workplace Training company has provided her with a strong knowledge of the industry standards and requirements that our Industrial Working at Heights customers strive to achieve.  Her extensive experience working as a Recreation Program Coordinator and Youth Worker, designing and implementing a variety of programming and specialized experiences for children, youth and people with disabilities, allows her to confidently provide support to our customers in the Camp, Outdoor Education and the Aerial Park and Adventure Tours industry.

Our Instructors & Inspectors

Elevation has a team of experienced and professional Instructors and Inspectors, drawn from a variety of backgrounds in the Aerial Park, Camp, Arboreal, Emergency Service and Industrial Working At Heights industries.  Our instructors each offer a strong set of specialized skills and facilitate our programs in an engaging manner that encourages learning through hands-on experience.  When booking customer training, instructors are matched with customer needs to ensure that our programs are being taught by a facilitator who can provide skilled and knowledgeable information and instruction based on their own professional experience.  Our Working at Heights inspectors are all qualified and certified through the IHSA (Infrastructure Health and Safety Association).  Our inspectors are all knowledgeable on the most up-to-date industry standards and code requirements and ensure that each course is safe and ready for use.
